Sherine Ebadi began her career in non-profit work in the late 1990’s, volunteering for several non-governmental organizations who were engaged in emergency and long-term relief efforts in Bosnia, India and Turkey.
In 2009, after returning to the United States, she turned to public service as a
special agent with the FBI, where she worked complex financial crimes and public corruption. It was during this time that began volunteering for organizations serving the inner-city areas of Los Angeles. That service gave birth to the idea for HRP in 2015.
In addition to her work with HRP, Sherine is a managing director with the Forensic
Investigations and Intelligence practice at the global financial and risk advisory firm,
Kroll.

Working as a police officer with the Hawthorne Police Department for 20 years, Mark Kirunchyk thought he knew what it meant to serve and protect the community. He spent 10 years as a gang detective, was a two-time recipient of the Sustained Superiority Award, and in 2011, was awarded the Medal of Valor.
But when Mark retired from the department, he got a new perspective on what it meant to serve. Incited by a colleague’s initiative, Coffee with a Cop, Mark founded 10K with a Cop in 2018, which inspires youth to run weekly with police officer mentors and complete a 10k run at the end of each school year.
That passion for building safer communities and creating a better future for the next generation also led Mark to create the Healthy Room Project. Mark is also the executive director of Run to Remember Los Angeles, a non-profit running event that honors fallen first responders.
